Same Old Dusty, NOT His Same Tired Tricks

After blaming everything in Chicago for half the team feeling sick, mold, air conditioning, or whatever else, now Dusty Baker is likely to start Stephen Strasburg.

Now let me be clear, Stephen was NOT going to play in game four today. But after a night of every baseball outlet questioning Dusty’s call, questioning Stephen’s call – he (Stephen) has told team officials he would be willing to go today if needed.

Now this isn’t exactly the smartest idea since Strasburg pitched a side session, is sick, and has a history of arm issues and poor mechanics. If tired, Stephen could fall into even worse mechanical problems, and tear up his arm.

There is an interesting theory here. Scott Boras.

Why am I bringing up Boras? Well he is Stephen’s agent, and well most of the Nationals for that matter. There is a strong thought that Scott went to Stephen and told him to pitch.

Scott’s job is to get the most for his players, and guide them professionally to get the most money. Not that this is bad, or wrong, or anything other than Scott doing his job. If Stephen didn’t pitch, with the world now knowing he was asked to, Scott pulled authority and told him he needs to go. If he didn’t and the Nationals lose, his reputation would take a major hit. Remember Jay Culter after his strained muscle in the Championship game against the Packers? Similar to that type of blow back.

Thats the thought out there, and since it’s been believed Scott Boras has pulled the strings in Washington for some time now, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
