This is just step one of what can be a weird couple of weeks for the Chicago Cubs generational talent. But, today is a day to celebrate. The Cubs and Kris Bryant have agreed to terms on a one year deal avoiding salary arbitration.
Bryant agreed to $18.6 million for the 2020 season. It wad estimated that he and the Cubs would agree to $18.5 million. He will likely have one more arbitration eligible season in 2021, unless his grievance surprisingly goes the other way.

There is also the possibility of the Cubs trading Bryant. This will likely become a hotter topic after there is a final answer on his grievance, which is expected soon.
