Gary Bettman is in town today, and plans on announcing the draft in a press conference this afternoon.
Chicago has been at the center of a lot of the NHL’s marketing plans over the past several seasons, Winter Classic, Stadium Series, TV advertising, credit going to both John McDonought and credit to the team’s success.
The city itself has never hosted the NHL draft, but after the roaring success of the NFL draft last year, and their plans on making Chicago the home for the draft for future years proves the town knows how to host an event.
So like for so many occasions over the past six years, Chicago will be the center of the hockey world once again.
