It’s official Chicago Cubs fans! Kris Bryant Chicago Cubs third baseman is the National League Rookie of the Year for 2015! Bryant beat out other NL rookies Matt Duffy ( San Francisco Giants) and Jung Ho Kang (Pittsburgh Pirates) for the award.
Kris helped the Cubs to a 97 win season which ended with a four game sweep in the NLCS to long-time rivals, the New York Mets. Bryant was originally the center of controversy as he was seemingly the most recent victim of baseball’s time of service clock. When he was finally called up on April 17th, he nor the Cubs looked back.
Bryant gained all 30 of the first place votes from the BBWAA, in becoming the sixth Cubs rookie of the year and first since Geovanny Soto after the 2008 season.
