Matt Forte has been one of the most productive runningbacks since he came into the league after being drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2008 draft. Since that time he has been a wildly popular Bear, but often overshadowed by the likes of Brian Urlacher, Jay Cutler, and even Brandon Marshall.
Not any more.
According to a report by Dick’s Sporting Goods, one of the largest sporting goods retailers in the country, Matt Forte’s number 22 jersey is the most popular jersey sold in the Chicagoland area. That news should come as no surprise as this Bears team is short on star players, and Forte has been the biggest bright point for the team for some time.
No, the surprise is that the good old #22 Bears jersey is the most sold jersey in Wisconsin according to the retail giant.
According to CBS Sports, Dick’s accounts for all in store and online sales from April 30th until September 3rd for their annual report.
Perhaps this shows a change of the times, and the Bears will not only dominate jersey sales, but also dominate on the field? Naw.
Although this is rather interesting, you should keep in mind there are as many Dick’s north of Milwaukee as there are south of it (2). Also, Rodgers owned the most sold jersey in Wisconsin last year.
Matt Forte is in The last year of his contract, and since the team and Forte did not talk extension in the offseason, many believe this will be the last season Forte is in Chicago.
