Perhaps Steve Blass should have read my article on Javy Baez?
There seems to be a movement in baseball, wanting the game to revert back to a no-fun, go out there and pretend like you’ve been there before mentality. The game has grown past that, the game has evolved to a game where walking your first six steps after a homer is acceptable. Hell, we all love bat flips, and there are articles dedicated to talking about and grading bat flips.
But here we are, actual baseball announcers talking about a player (who has brought a TON of fans to the game) and how they can’t get behind him because he’s flashy.
#Pirates announcer Steve Blass doesn’t like #Cubs Javier Baez. Why?
“His flashiness, that’s part of it.”
Ugh…what’s the other part? pic.twitter.com/v9BSS9io2s— Aldo Soto (@AldoSoto21) August 19, 2017
Maybe Steve is jealous of players that have ability, and who just might be able to retain their talents?
