St Louis Blues Star Falling Apart at the Seams

ST. LOUIS, MO - APRIL 25: Vladimir Tarasenko #91 of the St. Louis Blues takes a shot on goal as he fall to the ice against Mark Giordano #5 of the Calgary Flames during the third period at the Scottrade Center on April 25, 2013 in St. Louis, Missouri. Through the first five games (and a period) between the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues, it was clearly Vladimir Tarasenko’s coming out party. With four goals through those four games the Blackhawks haven’t had an answer for Tarasenko thus far.

But during the second period of game 5 the blues went on a power play in which Tarasenko didn’t stepped foot onto the ice. Understandably frustrated comma Tarasenko and head coach Ken Hitchcock had words as they were coming off the ice.

It was during the second period that the Blackhawks came back from a three goals to one deficit and a game in which they would eventually win 6-3. If I was wed Amir I would be upset as well. He has been able to do pretty much whatever he wanted on the ice, and the only way to stop him is for Hitchcock to not play him.

Wow I never advocated a player showing up his head coach like that especially where everybody in the world can see them, I can definitely understand his feelings. The question remains however, is this something deeper that’s Brewing within the St. Louis Blues locker room? Was there more fallout once they got back to their locker room? And will this spill over into game 7 which will see the St. Louis Blues go home early for the third consecutive postseason?

Either way this bodes extremely well for the defending Stanley Cup champions, and if there’s dissension within the ranks in the Blues’ locker room the Blackhawks could very likely walk through game 7 and into the next round of the playoffs.

While you never prepare for a team to tuck their tail between their legs, it certainly feels like that could be the case in St Louis.
