While talking with Bruce Levine and Mike Esposito on WSCR-AM 670 The Score’s “Inside the Clubhouse” on Saturday morning, Cubs owner Tom Ricketts was asked about burying the hatchet with Sammy Sosa.
Being clear to remove Sosa from the conversation, to speak about PED users as a whole, he asked fans, writers, and Baseball overall to “understand their point of view.”
He went on to mention, while we know the names of the big users; Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Mark McGwire, etc. we do not know about the guys that tried it for a month and stopped, or the guys that saw little to no improvement.
Here are some highlights from a very interesting conversation with Tom Ricketts.
Ricketts tells @MLBBruceLevine PED players owe us a "little bit of honesty," meaning no change in @TheRealMr609 status.

Speaking generally of everyone but with Sammy Sosa as context, Tom Ricketts believes players of the PED era "owe us a little honesty."

Tom Ricketts on players of PED era (indirectly on Sosa): "There’s certain things over time should happen before players are welcomed back."

All of this ends with a singular question… where does this leave the Cubs and former superstar slugger, Sammy Sosa?
Regarding Sammy Sosa's strained relationship with #Cubs now, Tom Ricketts says, “For the time being, we’ll leave things as they are."

While it almost seemed dismissive, the underlying tone seemed almost as if he has (Tom) a general understanding of the era, the users, and that perhaps an eventual reconciliation between Sosa and the Cubs very well could happen. Perhaps all that needs to be done is an apology.
