Baez and the Cubs Agree, Avoid Arbitration
The Chicago Cubs and Javier Baez have agreed to terms, avoiding arbitration. His deal is a reported $10 million he was expected to make $9.3 million.
There were earlier rumors that the Cubs and Baez were talking extension at the Winter Meetings. Due to illness, that conversation didn’t happen, but the Cubs and his agent have had many conversations over the years. They continue to have those conversations. Perhaps overpaying for Baez, even if it is only $700k more than he expected.
