Cubs and Kyle Hendricks Agree to Four-Year Extension!
It was only a matter of time before the Chicago Cubs got on this extension-train that’s going around baseball. And perhaps the best guy to lock down just did.
Kyle Hendricks' four-year extension with the Cubs guarantees him $63 million from 2019-23, a source tells ESPN. It includes a fifth-year club option for the 2024 season.

This will pay Hendricks $15.75m each of the next four seasons, and the Cubs have an option for a fifth year. Essentially, the Cubs helped ensure they keep a front line starter past that 2022-2023 “window” and do so at a good club and player price.
