Cubs to Part Ways with Manager Joe Maddon
After taking the club to the promised land, for the first time in 108 years, to a disappointing 2018 where the club lost the Wild Card game and an even more disappointing 2019 where they didn’t make the playoffs at all – the Chicago Cubs are parting ways with manager Joe Maddon.

After Saturday night’s 8-6 win over the St Louis Cardinals, Maddon learned that the club would move forward without his services.
Theo Epstein delivered the news to Maddon in St Louis as Joe had planned on leaving Chicago early in the week next week. The parting has been somewhat expected throughout the season, in fact, rumblings stretched back as far as the end of the 2018 season.
Maddon is 470-338 in his Cubs coaching career, and 1,251-1,067 in his career. There is still one game remaining in the 2019 season.
