That Huge Two-Run Homer Wasn’t the Best Thing Heyward Did This Weekend

I haven’t understood the vitriol given towards Jason Heyward from Chicago Cubs fans. Now, don’t get Me wrong, I understand the frustration or criticism, but some of the things Cubs fans have “suggested” with J-Hey has been ridiculous. This is a dude that has grinded everything since the first day he signed in Chicago to become better. Whether it was the pressures of his gazillion dollar contract, or snowball effects from just struggling, the dude is one of the most standup guys in that locker room.

Of course we saw Jason turn on this 99-MPH heater and put it in the stands on Saturday night.

But that wasn’t the best thing Jason did this weekend. This is something that can’t be measured in stats or contracts or anything else. This move right here is something I wish more athletes would get.

Oh, and if you wanted to know how Jason has improved his approach, well here’s how.
