In a tweet by Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com he confirms that the Chicago Cubs will fly Kyle Schwarber to Cleveland after his Arizona Fall League game today.

This is extremely exciting, and while it doesn’t say definitely that he will be on the World Series roster, Mayo’s next couple of tweets added fuel to that very fire.
when do they have to make their decision by?

Is that he's added.

There have been many people that have brought up whose roster spot would Kyle take, or that it is possibly unfair for Kyle to take the roster spot of someone who has been on the team all (or most of) season. My reply to that second statement is, it is unfair – but this is professional sports and very little is fair. The answer to the first… He could easily take the spot of Cubs reliever Rob Zastryzny. Rob was on the NLCS roster because the LA Dodgers were almost historically bad against lefties, and he never saw action. Kyle could easily take Rob’s spot and not throw the balance of the normal rotation of hitters/fielders up at all.
Schwarber could also take the spot of Chris Coghlan. While I think Coghlan adds to the versatility of the team and roster, Albert Almora Jr does as well and it appears that Joe Maddon has more trust in Almora at this point than Chris (gaining nine playoff at bats to Coghlan’s four).
Plus, Schwarber would probably steal at bats from someone like Jorge Soler as the likely DH. I think we all would prefer Schwarber’s bat over Soler’s bat, assuming all is right with Kyle’s stick.
Oh, and you are wondering about Kyle’s bat? Well here’s another video of him taking BP in Arizona.
