Theo, Jed, McLeod all get extensions
News broke just around 3:15 central time that the Cubs’ President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein was receiving a five-year extension worth upwards of $50 million.
Soon after, it was reported current GM Jed Hoyer and GM-hopeful (teams could potentially steal away) Jason McLeod also signed extensions.
Yay for good things happening!
This is all great news across Cubs fandom as we all know the Cubs have been the best team in baseball in 2016, and were one of the best in 2015, all because of the players and infrastructure these three men put together.
Here’s the full statement by the Cubs:

…and here you can watch the announcement.
With the Cubs winning 97 games a season ago, and already 101 this year, it’s safe to say these extensions are well-earned and possibly overdue since we could see the “plan” being put into motion from almost the very beginning.
