Umm… Did Darvish Go Full Alou!? How’s He Doing?
If you recall, Cubs fans all over the internet freaked out because of a Yu Darvish blister. Yeah… they freaked out over a blister. Well, on Friday Darvish threw a bullpen, where everything was fine, and he gave an interesting response to how his blister has recovered so quickly.
Darvish said he felt good. The break during the bullpen session was to fix a bandage. Yu joked that he peed on the blister to help it heal. (He did not actually) pic.twitter.com/jDBnIIqMI2

There’s a couple things I like about this interaction. The first, his finger is fine. That’s the most important part of this thing. The next is, I love how he’s joking with reporters.
I’ve had contact with some of Darvish’s inner circle the past year and a half. One thing they mention about him is how personable he is, funny, and genuine. Those aren’t traits people saw from Darvish last season, and seeing that now makes me think he’s just more comfortable.
In my experience, comfort = confidence. In sports, confidence = success. Don’t sleep on this dude.

I love how smooth his delivery is. There’s no jerking, no weird pause, nothing but pure sound mechanics. He’s going to have a really good year.
