Without Seager, Cubs Projected to Win NLCS
I know, I know, never tell me the odds…
But ZiPS projects that the Cubs are now favored to win the NLCS without Corey Seager on the Dodgers’ roster.

ZiPS, or sZymborski Projection System, is a projection system created by Dan Szymborski when he was at Baseball Think Factory. According a Q&A on the Baseball Think Factory website, ZiPS uses growth and decline curves based on player type to find trends. It then factors those trends into the past performance of those players to come up with projections. You can certainly read up some more on it, here.
While the Dodgers were favored by quite a bit with Seager, it’s pulled really close, with the Cubs getting the slightest of edges.
These are just statistical projections, and you can do with them as you want, but this is the first real sign that the Cubs would be favored in any way.
