You Won’t Believe How Far Anthony Rizzo Will Take The Matt Szczur Thing

There has been a lot said about the Chicago Cubs use of Matt Szczur’s stuff over the last couple of games. With Anthony Rizzo using Matt’s bat, Addison Russell using his underwear – just what else is being loaned out to the guys and just how far is Anthony willing to go?

When Anthony Rizzo joined the guys at Fox Sports 1, he was asked just that question (at the 2:22 mark, but watch it all, its good).

Anthony Rizzo of course went on to go 5 for 8 using the bat, and Russell went 5 for 10 wearing Szczur’s underpants. Is there anything that Jason Heyward could borrow please?

While Rizzo’s remarks are funny, this gives you yet another window into what the Cubs clubhouse is like. Not saying they have sleepover parties by any means, but those who have played sports or have been in locker rooms have been around for these sort of jokes.

The Cubs will take all of Matt Szczur’s wardrobe to Wrigley Field on Saturday night in hopes of winning the National League pennant for the first time since 1945.
