Amazing Bears Fan Incredible Act of Kindness

When Hobart, Indiana resident, Kelly McGuide attended the final Chicago Bears game of the season she didn’t expect to become a local hero. But that’s exactly what happened to this Bears fan soon after the season ending loss.

As NBC Chicago reports, with 30-degree game time temperatures, Kelly wore six layers of shirts and three layers of pantsĀ to watch the Bears face-off against the Detroit Lions. Once the game completed, Kelly stopped at a Chicago staple, Giordanos, for a post-game dinner before catching a trainĀ home to Indiana.

Having removed her extra layers and placed them in a bag, Kelly saw Amy, who is homeless and in need of some warmer clothing. That is when Kelly gave Amy the bag with her extra layers, and even the boots off her own feet. That is when this Facebook post went viral (click the picture for the entire Facebook post).

This was certainly an incredible act of kindness, and she earns my vote for Chicago Bears fan of the year.

“I was brokenhearted for her,” McGuire told ABC. “My initial reaction was, ‘That could be any one of my friends or my family.’ We have an obligation to help everyone we can because we never know when it’s going to be us.”
