Crazy Deal Being Reported for Dexter Fowler
By now you have begun to hear the news that Dexter Fowler is in St Louis and is scheduled to have a physical tomorrow (Friday) which would finalize a contract to play for the Cardinals. Now we are beginning to hear that the Cardinals are offering a huge deal, which is why this decision came so quickly.
Sources say #Cardinals made over-the-top offer to Dexter Fowler, to be sure to land CF. @Frank_Cusumano reports he's en route for physical.

Some are hearing the deal could be as long as nine years. That has not been confirmed, but many think this is a long and big (as in dollars) contract.
Typically the Winter Meetings sets the ground work for a lot of deals in baseball, and while I’m not entirely certain if this deal had started over the last several days, it certainly quickly ended Thursday evening.
We had Dexter going to St Louis based on news, as well as remarks made to us and through other organizations. The last two weeks or so however, made that sound less and less likely. With the Toronto Blue Jays sounding more and more interested, some thought the Cardinals wouldn’t go to the numbers or years that Dexter would begin to command on the market.
Dexter had a career year in Chicago in 2016, which was capped off with a game seven lead-off home run and World Series Championship. While his final season in Chicago was a bit of a surprise…
Cubs fans should be happy for Dexter, his wife, and family.
Thank you Dexter, and well wishes.
