Cubs Will Host the Wild Card Game at Wrigley, Home or Away
Whether the Wild Card game is played in Pittsburgh or Chicago, it appears that Cubs fans will be able to watch the game at Wrigley Field regardless.
According to a Tribune report, the Chicago Cubs are planning on using their video boards to broadcast the one-game Wild Card game at Wrigley, in the event that the game is played in Pittsburgh.
So how do you get tickets? Well, according to the Tribune, the Cubs will offer tickets to season ticket holders first, and then on a first come first serve basis from there. It appears that all tickets will have a single set price (undetermined at the time).
This is incredible news, but even more awesome is that the Cubs plan on donating any proceeds from ticket sales to charity. Showing once more what an incredible franchise the Ricketts are running.
Cubs chairman, Tom Ricketts, mentioned recently that this was a possibility, and from reports it appears that it will become a reality. So keep your eyes peeled as I’m certain these tickets will go fast and this would be an awesome way to experience the first Cubs playoff game since the 2008 season.
A whole new AWESOME!!!
The boards are GREAT! This is gonna be one massive party!
Years ago when the Bulls were in the championship games against SLC, they opened up the Stadium for the away games and charged $10. Families got to go and everything was there, the Jesse White Tumblers, the Bulls cheerleaders, vendors, etc. It was a great experience for everyone. This would be even better if they donate the $$$ to charity, although I hope they keep it low enough for families to go to.
