Goose Island Calls Out Parkey Haters, Challenge to FREE Beer for a Year

For several weeks now we have all endured some Chicago Bears fans pleading to anyone who will give them a couple minutes that they could kick better than the Bears Cody Parkey. Here’s a hint, you can’t so please don’t quit your day job. Well in the midst of the Bears heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Parkey missed on a 43-yard field goal which would have won the game. That kick has prompted the worst kind of humans to threaten Parkey and his family.

I don’t want to paint all of Chicago, or Bears fans as bad fans, they aren’t. The vast majority understand that this is just a game, and while it hurts, most have kept their cool. Now, unless the money is incredibly tight this offseason, I don’t see a scenario in which Parkey kicks for the Bears again, but that’s neither here nor there.

It was the idiots in that fan base which prompted Goose Island to create this challenge, and the winner(s) could walk away with free beer for a year.

That’s a nice way to ease into it. The game was tough, but as I learned on the Bernstein and McKnight show today, talking about it will make things better. So I’m game to talk about it.

Ah, we’re going that route. I’ve started to go that route on some social media posts, but better thoughts prevailed.

Talk about putting your money where your mouth is, I mean, challenging people to come out and kick field goals, the only way this is better is if your get free beeee…….rr.r….r….

OH HELL YEAH!!! FREE BEER FOR A YEAR AND ALL I NEED TO DO IS HIT A CHIP SHOT FROM 43!?!? Mind you, I’ve only hit field goals from about 23 yards, but that almost makes me an expert.

I would absolutely love to see Goose Island stream this live, like they have to otherwise they’re missing a HUGE opportunity. There are a lot of folks out there acting a fool, and saying all sorts of things. I would LOVE, I mean LLLOOOOOVVVVEEEEE to see an quick interview before, the fan all cocky like, “oh, this is easy! Its a game and they get millions and to fail is unacceptable.” Then they step up and shank a wobble gobble monster 8 yards and walk away with their pride in their significant other’s drink cup.

Oh, and if you only counted four of five tweets, they ended their rant with this.
