Pissed Off Fan Reacting to Blackhaeks Trade of Teuvo
This will not be a very well structured article. This will be ranting. This will be complaining. This will be a pissed off fan reacting to the news of the Chicago Blackhawks trading away Teuvo Teravainen.
The mistake by Scotty’s son Stan Bowman has cost the Blackhawks again. That mistake was believing Bryan flipping Bickell was worth every penny of a four year $16 million contract because he did some stuff in one Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Oh, but you coach Q. Yes you Mr. Joel Quenneville aren’t without blame on this either. It’s your unwavering love for Andrew Shaw that continues to put a strain on the Blackhawks salary cap, costing several talented players because Shaw hals a big motor and plays with grit.
This is freaking hockey and high motor, gritty guys grow in freaking trees!
While some, a lot of Blackhawks fans simply adore Shaw, you won’t find that love from myself. Sure I appreciate what he dies for the team, sure I think he had a lot to do with the last couple Stanley Cups, sure I think he’s a good player. I just don’t overvalue a guy that’s biggest contribution is being better than his size suggests.
You have heard of the Gordie Howe Hat Trick, right? That’s score a goal, grab an assist, and get in a fight during a game. Well Shaw has his own hat trick… it’s an assist, tip in goal on the power play, and sink the Blackhawks chances of winning by taking a four minute double minor with 2:30 left in a one goal game.
That is what we are trading Teuvo for, an undisciplined high energy guy that the team can find anywhere (hell, even in their own roster…).
Oh sure the team got a second and a third rounder for Bickell and Teuvo… but you know once they are about to be called up to Chicago they won’t fit or Quenneville won’t trust them so they will end up traded for a 3r year old defenseman who can’t skate anymore.
But f@%$ at least we have those three cups..
Oh yeah… those three Stanley Cups…
