Pittsburgh Reporter Calls for Jake Arrieta to be Thrown At
Matt Maisel, ever heard of him? No, of course you haven’t cause he’s a small time reporter for the FOX affiliate WPMT in Pennsylvania. Well, he called for Jake Arrieta’s head today.
First Matt sent this out to the Twitterverse, speaking mostly about when Jake Arrieta hit the Pirates Jung-ho Kang.
I don't advocate violence, but I wouldn't mind seeing the #Pirates brawl with the Cubs. Must stop getting treated like crap.

Then he followed it up with this nugget when questioned about the fight comment.

Now I get it. I still have a lot of old school baseball ingrained into me. That comes naturally when your grandfather and father played the game at higher levels, and they taught me the game. So, while I can understand that a team that is getting pushed around would take to a brawl to send a message, hell I’ve been in that situation before, I don’t like melon hunting in order to earn respect.
That last comment is what really tipped Cubs fans off on this guy.

Throwing at a player's head? #ClassAct

There are about 300 more tweets from Cubs fans with different variations of those same tweets. Matt mentioned later that there were about seven people he ended up blocking because comments went too far, and all rivalry stuff aside he ended up taking the Twitter beating well. But little did he know @RicoinAnkeny would tweet the conversation to Jake himself. Oh… and he decided to reply.
@Matt_Maisel @JustChrisLeone If I hit someone intentionally, you will know.

Again, I’m ribbing Matt who like I said, seemed to take this beat down with dignity. No sense going at him any further. He admitted the comments were dumb, and were said because he was salty.
Things like this add to the rivalry that should be strong for several years. Oh and Matt, if this comes your way… I didn’t mean that first paragraph stuff. I was salty ?.
