We have already spoken about the Kyle Hendricks, Kyle Schwarber, and Mike Montgomery contracts. The Cubs and Addison Russell had already announced a contract back in December.
We are now only awaiting news on Javier Baez and Kris Bryant, both of which are a bit more complicated. Bryant earned the largest first year arb eligible increase in baseball history when he and the Cubs agreed on a $10.85MM deal last season. It is expected that he signs a $12.4MM deal this year.
Baez is coming off a second place finish in NL MVP voting, and is expecing a large increase himself. He made $627,000 in 2018 and is expected to agree to a deal around $7.1MM.
