VIDEO: Cheating in the World Series

As I began scrolling through my Facebook feed I came across this very, very interesting video. It apparently shows Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez rubbing his hand on a foreign substance on his shin guard. While this video doesn’t show him apply whatever the substance is on the baseball itself, he is running his fingers together add if there was a tacky substance on them.

If he is applying a substance, it could allow for a better grip on the baseball, allowing for more rotation, bigger breaking balls, and of course more swings and misses.

While some say cheating, others say he was just took a foul off his hand. That could explain the rubbing of his hand, but the spot on the shin guard is still tough to explain. It is in a natural spot where his hand could rest, and as a lot of catchers do, they will rub their hands in the dirt underneath them from time to time, and that could be rubbed off on the plastic spot there on the guard.

Either way it is suspicious to say the least, and the Mets could have, should have asked for a uniform check.
