What’s this thing the Cubs are doing?
Of course last season, the thing to do when a Cubs player got on base was the helmet rub, brought to you by Jonathan Herrera. And it started this year, too, when Dex began the season with a double.
Well, after this happened on Opening Night:

AKA Ben Zobrist getting picked off with Rizzo up to bat – a new thing to do when you get on base happened.
Now it appears that the thing to do is to point to the base, like “I’m supposed to stay here, right?” I noticed it when they started doing it, but wasn’t exactly sure what they were doing. Here’s some .GIF’s to refresh your memory:
It’s actually pretty awesome and hilarious. If you haven’t picked up on how this season is going to, you can tell just from these that it’s going to be a fun ride.
