That Awesome New Chicago Bulls Intro, Falls Flat

The was some excitement surrounding the new 3D Chicago Bulls intro. While the United Center had the video equipent for several years, and the Chicago Blackhawks have used it very well, the Bulls intro just fell flat.

Take a look for yourself. The first video is the video played before player intros, the on floor intro follows.

While it started off cool, having the UC floor open up from around the Bulls logo, everything else they did with the intro was just short of, blah.

Maybe it just came off bad because I wasn’t in attendance, and the video doesn’t give off the same “feel” as it would if you are surrounded by 30,000 screaming fans. But it seems like the Atlanta Hawks were able to pull off an awesome intro, and no one seemed to be there for this.

I mean, the Atlanta Hawks…

If you aren’t onboard with the whole falling flat thing, here is the Chicago Blackhawks introfrom the Stanley Cup Final last season season.

They have access to the same equipment as the Bulls, but are able to create so much more. Maybe it has something to do with the Blackhawks having a nice white (ice) background and the projector can do more than on the UC floor, but the Atlanta intro has the same flooring, and theirs was cool.

Maybe I’m picking hairs, but the 50th anniversary of the Chicago Bulls, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the president in attendance, and that was what we got?

Lets hope they go back to the design team soon.
